The Quranic Blueprint: Examples of Worldly Affairs Reflecting Divine Wisdom (Part 2)

extending the previous The Quranic Blueprint: Examples of Worldly Affairs Reflecting Divine Wisdom In the vast expanse of the Quran, we find not only spiritual guidance but also profound insights into worldly affairs that reflect divine wisdom. This part of our exploration delves into examples from the Quran that illustrate how everyday activities, natural phenomena, and human experiences are imbued with deep spiritual and ethical teachings. The Bounty of the Sea: Fishing and Pearls The Quran speaks of the sea as a source of sustenance and beauty, highlighting the divine wisdom behind these natural resources. Catching Fish and Seafood The Quran emphasizes the importance of the sea as a source of food: **“It is He who subjected the sea for you to eat from it tender meat and to extract from it ornaments which you wear. And you see the ships plowing through it, and He subjected it that you may seek of His bounty, and perhaps you will be grateful.”** (Quran 16:14) Fishing, an age-old ...

The Quranic Blueprint: Examples of Worldly Affairs Reflecting Divine Wisdom

The Quran, the holy book of Islam, is regarded as a timeless source of guidance, offering insights into the natural and social phenomena of the world. It provides a comprehensive framework for understanding the intricacies of life, emphasizing that events unfold according to divine wisdom. When humanity strays from these teachings, problems arise. This blog explores examples from the Quran that illustrate how worldly affairs align with divine guidance and the consequences of deviation. Natural Phenomena and Divine Order **1. The Cycle of Day and Night** The Quran eloquently describes the natural cycle of day and night, highlighting the precision and balance in creation. **Surah Ya-Sin (36:37-40):**   "And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. And the moon - We have determined for it phases, until i...

Exploring Physics, Mathematics, and Data Science through the Qur'an

The Qur'an, the holy book of Islam, is a treasure trove of knowledge and wisdom. Beyond its spiritual and ethical guidance, the Qur'an also provides insights into the natural world, which can be interpreted through the lenses of modern sciences such as physics, mathematics, and data science. This blog explores how selected Surahs—Al Baqarah, Al Imran, A'raaf, R'ad, Ankabuut, Ruum, Luqman, and Sajdah—can offer valuable lessons in these scientific domains. Surah Al Baqarah: The Cow (Chapter 2) Surah Al Baqarah, the longest chapter in the Qur'an, is rich with references to the natural world and the principles governing it. One can find parallels between its verses and the fundamental laws of physics. For instance, verse 2:164 mentions the creation of the heavens and the earth, the alternation of night and day, the ships that sail the seas for the benefit of humanity, the rain that Allah sends down from the sky, and the life it brings to a dead earth. These phenomena ca...

The Divine Analytics: Drawing Parallels Between Data Science and the Wisdom in the Quran

Image
As a Data Science student, I often find parallels between the principles we study and the profound wisdom found in the Quran. One verse that particularly stands out is verse 25 of Surah Fatir (The Originator). This verse, in essence, can be seen as an early reference to what we now term as 'Predictive Analytics'. Let's explore this in more detail. Predictive Analytics in the Divine Context In verse 25 of Surah Fatir, Allah Almighty informs the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) that rejection from the people is not a new phenomenon. It has happened to previous messengers as well: "If they reject you, (it is not something new, because) those before them have (also) rejected (messengers). Their messengers came to them with clear proofs and with scriptures and with the enlightening book." [35:25] Here, Allah is essentially predicting the behavior of the people based on historical data. Just as in predictive analytics, where future outcomes are forecasted based on p...
